Three American service members are dead after an overnight drone attack at a U.S. outpost in Jordan.  The U.S. Central Command has confirmed another 25 service members were injured at Tower 22 near the Syrian border in northeast Jordan.

It marks the first U.S. troops killed by enemy fire in the Middle East since the start of the Israel-Hamas war.

President Biden condemned the attack in a White House statement today.  Biden called it a “despicable and wholly unjust attack” carried out by radical Iran-backed militant groups. Asked if President Biden will travel to Dover for the dignified transfers for the killed service members, National Security Council Spokesman John Kirby said, “I don’t have anything on his schedule to speak to.”

On MSNBC, White House Spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre gave condolences to the, “three folks who are military folks who are brave who are always fighting, who were fighting on behalf of this administration.”

In a statement, former President Trump said, “This brazen attack on the United States is yet another horrific and tragic consequence of Joe Biden’s weakness and surrender.”
