Parents and others are asking questions about an afterschool club sponsored by the Satanic Temple. The new “After School Satan Club” at Truman Benedict Elementary in San Clemente mirrors clubs that have been popping up in schools across the country.
The brochure for the club describes it as a “fun, intellectually stimulating and non-proselytizing alternative to current religious after-school clubs being offered in public schools.”
Parents have complained to the district about the club, but officials say the rules prevent them from denying any non-profit organization from meeting on school grounds after hours.
