Bay Bridge Protestors Ask DA To Drop Charges Against Them

The protesters who shut down the Bay Bridge in November calling for a cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas war are asking the San Francisco District Attorney to drop the charges against them.

They are facing five charges including false imprisonment, refusing to comply with an officer, and refusing to disperse. They say the charges are egregious, especially the false imprisonment charge. They face six months to a year in prison.

The protestors, who plan to rally outside the DA’s office, say they are being held to a different standard than other protesters around the country. They are due in court next month.
