Maury Povich was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award during the Daytime Emmys ceremony on Saturday (Dec. 16).
Povich was presented the award by his wife, journalist Connie Chung.
Chung said during her speech, “I know that you think he’s been determining the paternity of every child in America all his life, but no, in his 67 freaking years in television, he’s been a news reporter and a news anchor and old fashion talk show host interviewing world leaders, politicians, members of Congress, authors, movie stars and even Julia Child.”
Povich’s popular talk show premiered in 1991, and it ended when he retired in 2022.
