Sacramento Neighbors Worry More Businesses Could Leave if Crime, Homelessness Are Not Addressed

Some people living in the Broadway Corridor of Sacramento say they’re sad and frustrated at how their once-booming area is becoming a hotbed of crime and empty storefronts. Starbucks and Jamba Juice have already closed.

As the city talks about new developments and lane reductions to improve walking, residents say they are experiencing broken windows, vacant buildings and a feeling of not being safe in their own neighborhood.

Many are afraid if the situation isn’t remedied soon, even more businesses may leave the area.
