Open bar is over for one Bay Area tech company. The software company Expensify has announced it is shutting down its upscale cocktail lounge at its Kearny Street offices.

The goal of the lounge was to entice workers both at the company and in the area to come back to the office following the pandemic.

The lounge made free drinks for employees and guests starting in April, but Expensify officials say it ultimately did not help lure people back to the office.
