California DMV Orders Cruise’s Driverless Cars off Road

California is hitting the brakes on some driverless cars. The Department of Motor Vehicles calls them unsafe and suspended Cruise’s fleet following a two-month investigation.

This comes after a crash with a San Francisco fire truck and a pedestrian being hit.

The company won’t be given permits to deploy the taxis across the state but can continue testing them as long as someone is behind the wheel to takeover if needed.
