Los Angeles Dodgers legend Steve Garvey is announcing he is running for the U.S. Senate. Garvey plans to run as a Republican for the seat formerly held by the late Dianne Feinstein.
He says it’s time Californians had a fresh voice in Washington, D.C., and added that some of the issues he’ll focus on include the diminishing quality of life, rising crime, and sub-standard education.
The 74-year-old one-time National League MVP played ball from 1969 to 1987 including 14 years with the Dodgers and five with the San Diego Padres.
