Oakland residents, fed up with escalating crime, confronted Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price and the Oakland Police Department during a passionate community meeting.
Hundreds showed up looking for answers about crime prevention, arguing more needs to be done.
Residents had a chance to confront Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price and the Oakland police department over rising crime.
Frustrated residents lined up around the block to get in. Community members even took over the meeting and loudly voiced their concerns about a rise in violence and the lack of prosecution in Oakland.
Currently, a group wants to recall Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price. Safe Alameda for Everyone (SAFE), a group described as “tough on crime” advocates, is organizing the recall effort.
In response, DA Pamela Price compared the recall to January 6th and stated that “the DA’s role has really no impact on crime.”
Police highlighted three arrests the day before in a series of carjackings, saying other cases may be connected.
