The beating occurred after the man became frustrated with a sideshow that was taking place on Sunday at 34th and Adeline Street. The incident was captured on video and posted on social media.
In the video, several people go after him, repeatedly kicking and punching him as he lay on the ground. No one came to his aid, and at one point, someone put a bucket over his head as the man went unconscious.
The man’s condition remains unknown at this time and Oakland police have said that they were aware of the attack.
The incident was one of numerous sideshows that occurred across the city on Sunday. One arrest was made, a gun was recovered, and two cars were towed.
