Bob Lee, Cash App Creator and Former CTO of Square, Stabbed to Death in San Francisco

Bob Lee, founder of Cash App and the former chief technology officer of Square, was stabbed to death in San Francisco, California, according to reports

San Francisco Police said in a statement that a 43-year-old man was attacked Tuesday near downtown San Francisco at around 2:35 a.m. Officers arrived at the scene in response to the stabbing and Lee was rushed to the hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. 

Lee’s friends identified him as the person stabbed after the San Francisco medical examiner did not identify the victim.

In 2022, San Francisco reported 48,633 crimes with 2,393 aggravated assaults and 51 homicides. Crime data sourced from the FBI shows that the crime rate in San Francisco is 142% higher than the national average.
