The president of El Salvador is rejecting calls to return a mistakenly deported man to the U.S. Nayib Bukele told reporters he would not return a man the Justice Department said it mistakenly deported to his country while sitting next to President Trump in the Oval Office today.
Bukele said “We’re not very fond of releasing terrorists,” adding he’s not going to smuggle someone back to the U.S. “The Supreme Court ruled precedent that if El Salvador wanted to return him,” she continued. “This is international matters, foreign affairs.”
President Donald Trump hosted El Salvadorian President Nayib Bukele at the White House on Monday for a bilateral summit focused largely on immigration.
