There are about a half dozen active wildfires burning in Southern California. Among the largest, the more than 23-thousand-acre Palisades Fire is now 72 percent contained. The 14-thousand-acre-plus Eaton Fire is 95-percent contained. The Hughes Fire which broke out yesterday near Castaic Lake has burned more than 10-thousand acres of land and is 14 percent contained. Those fires have damaged or destroyed nearly 18 thousand structures and have forced tens of thousands of people to evacuate.
