A high-ranking member of the Jalisco New Generation cartel and son-in-law of fugitive leader “El Mencho,” was arrested this week in Riverside on federal drug trafficking and money laundering charges. Authorities say 37-year-old Gutierrez Ochoa had faked his death to flee Mexico after kidnapping two Mexican Navy members in 2021. He had reportedly been living under a false identity in Riverside. He is accused of conspiring to import large quantities of methamphetamine and cocaine into the U.S. and using violence to support cartel operations.
