The California DMV is agreeing to make a change on driver’s licenses.  Seems some people living in San Francisco incorrectly had the city abbreviated to San Fran.  State Senator Scott Wiener describes that as an “intolerable term” and asked the agency to  “promptly cease and desist” what he called nonsense.  The DMV agreed the full spelling works best and says they fixed the error.  Those who need a replacement card can get one for free.
