Erik and Lyle are currently serving life sentences at Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in Otay Mesa. Yesterday, the Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon recommended their resentencing, which could potentially lead to their release. Cameran Gary, a retired San Diego County District Attorney investigator and former probation officer, says if they do get out, their lives outside will be under scrutiny. Despite this possibility, the process will take several months and involves multiple legal steps.
