A California Republican legislator is calling the extraordinary session and vote on Governor Gavin Newsom’s gas spike protection bill “crazy.” Sacramento-area Assemblyman Joe Patterson says Democrats were playing political theater with this bill. He says Governor Newsom plans to campaign on this bill, telling voters he’s protecting them from paying more at the pump. But Patterson says most economists say this bill will actually increase prices.
