Trans College Volleyball Player Prompts Controversy

A trans collegiate volleyball player is causing controversy.  San Jose State’s women’s team is undefeated after ten games. Teams have been forfeiting as of late because of star player, Blaire Fleming.  The redshirt junior is transgender.  The forfeitures are being seen by critics as an attack on trans-athletes, and by supporters as a legitimate complaint about unwanted change in women’s sports.  The NCAA’s Title Nine is being challenged in a class action lawsuit that claims its protections of trans-women violates privacy and other rights of female athletes.
