LAPD is investigating “smash-and-grab” robberies just minutes apart at three Seven-Eleven stores Friday night.

Police say a group of around 20 people stormed into the Seven-Eleven store on West Sunset Boulevard around 8 p.m. and then the store on West Sunset Boulevard was hit about 15 minutes later.  The same thing happened at the Seven-Eleven on Santa Monica Boulevard another five minutes after the second store was robbed.

An employee was assaulted at the second store and items were stolen from all three stores.  Police have not said if the three robberies are connected.
