House Republicans are launching an investigation into Democratic vice-presidential nominee Tim Walz. House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer announced the committee is looking into Walz’s work related to China, including coordinating student trips.
He sent a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray demanding documents and correspondence with Walz related to China. Comer said Americans deserve to understand “how deep Governor Walz’s relationship with China goes.” Walz, a former teacher, has helped coordinate trips for students and has visited China more than 30 times.
