Gun shops in Los Angeles say residents are turning to guns to protect themselves in the face of rising crime. Earlier this week, a homeowner in Valley Village shot one of a group of people who tried to break into his home.  Police say it’s not the first time that has happened, and likely not the last.  Burglaries in Los Angeles County are up 20-percent, but gun sales are also up.  One gun shop owner said customers say they don’t trust law enforcement to protect them or the District Attorney to convict criminals.
