San Francisco is warning criminals they’re “going to be caught” on cameras.  The city now has 100 license plate readers up and running and so far, they’re working.  Police not only arrested a rape suspect but also some accused in retail theft cases.

Mayor Breed says she’s aware of privacy concerns but says there are tradeoffs, and they need this type of technology to protect the public.  Another 300 cameras will be installed next month.
