Senate lawmakers will be looking at the use of artificial intelligence in law enforcement. The Judiciary Subcommittee on Criminal Justice and Counterterrorism will examine how AI tech is being used by police and how it could be used in investigations and prosecutions.
The goal is to make sure there are safeguards in place. The committee will hear from three witnesses, including a UC Berkeley law professor and the Miami assistant chief of police.
