U.S. Applications for Jobless Benefits Drop To Lowest Level in 12

The number of Americans applying for unemployment benefits reached its lowest level in months last week.

According to Thursday’s report from the Labor Department, 202 thousand applications for jobless benefits were filed for the week ending January 6.

The drop brought the total down to the lowest amount in 12 weeks.

There was also a drop in the number of Americans receiving benefits, down to 1.83 million.
