An Oakland business owner confronting burglars Tuesday at his Montclair gas station says criminals are running the show and there is no law and order in the city. Like many business owners in Oakland, Sam Jebril is fed up with the city’s inaction toward crime and says if he’s burglarized again he’ll take matters into his own hands.

Jebril called 911 to report the burglars after they cut the locks on the steel doors and moved in. He got a busy signal, so he drove to the station on High Street where he used his car to ram the suspect’s car.

The station was already burglarized in October when burglars used a car to ram into the building and gain entry. According to Executive Director of the Montclair and Laurel District Business Associations Daniel Swafford, this is the sixth business hit in the area in the past week.
