California’s capital is among the cities nationwide with the most people living on the streets. New federal homeless numbers show that Sacramento County’s chronically homeless population is the third-highest in America.
It trails behind only Los Angeles and New York City.
The county’s homeless population was also slightly higher than Seattle’s King County and Santa Clara County in the Bay Area, the two counties with larger overall populations than Sacramento.
