LAPD’s Internal Affairs Division detectives have claimed that Chief Michael Moore instructed them to investigate Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass shortly after her election. However, Chief Moore denies these allegations.
The detectives submitted complaints to the Office of the Inspector General, stating that Moore called for an inquiry into a USC scholarship that Bass was awarded, which came under scrutiny during the 2022 election cycle.
Bass’ opponent, Rick Caruso, publicly criticized her for accepting the grant, and later accused her of offering legislation benefiting the university while serving as a member of Congress.
According to the “Los Angeles Times,” the detectives have not provided any evidence to support their claims.
