A company that makes many popular gift cards is being sued for failing to take action against a card-draining scam. The lawsuit is against InComm Financial Services’ gift cards “Vanilla Gift” and “One Vanilla,” which are sold around the United States.
It claims the company knew for years that the debit card’s “lax security features” opened the door to many card-draining scams, but InComm has “not sufficiently improved the cards’ packaging or implemented other changes to prevent those losses.”
A representative for the product told CNN in response that the company denies the allegations.
