California is ready to fight to keep a new gun law intact. Governor Gavin Newsom calls the court’s ruling by a federal judge to block it outrageous and “defying common sense.”
He says this “greenlights the proliferation of guns” in hospitals, libraries and playgrounds – “spaces which should be safe for all.”
The law was set to begin January 1st and would also ban guns on public transportation, at public gatherings and in stadiums, arenas and casinos.
The attorney general says the judge “got it wrong” and the state will appeal.
