This is the season to give, and that includes giving back to those who helped you throughout the year. Guidelines range from at least 25-dollars each in a larger building where you have several doorman to 150-dollars.

Streeteasy concierge Carlo Romero says it’s common to be a little more generous in a smaller building where residents have a more personal relationship with doormen.

And sanitation workers appreciate a little extra around the holidays — Streeteasy suggests between 20 and 30 dollars each.

U.S. mail carriers are prohibited from accepting cash or gift cards, so a non-cash gift is best. For a baby-sitter who helps you part-time on a regular basis, two days pay is considered appropriate.

For a housekeeper, one weeks pay is a nice tip, if you can manage it.
