A U.S. Navy destroyer shot down three dones that opened fire on commercial ships in the Red Sea on Sunday.

The Pentagon says the attacks were launched by Iran-backed Houthi militia operating in Yemen, aimed at Israeli and American ships.

The attack was similar to one launched from Yemen in October, in which three cruise missiles and multiple drones were shot down by the same Navy warship.

Pentagon officials say the attacks are “fully enabled by Iran” and that the U.S. will “consider all appropriate responses”.
