San Francisco’s 90-day ban on street vending in the city’s popular Mission District begins today and city leaders are unveiling a plan to support permitted street vendors. Two temporary spaces will open for permitted street vendors to sell goods and products.

One at Tiangue Marketplace and the other at La Placita. The city will also provide support for vendors with a resource fair and holiday shopping campaign.

Under the 90-day ban, anyone who doesn’t move or go inside could have their items confiscated. The moratorium on Mission Street is the result of unprecedented safety concerns, unpermitted vending and illegal activity.
