You’ll have fewer options this year to walk off that Thanksgiving meal and shop. A few years ago, all kinds of stores and malls pushed to be open on Thanksgiving. This year, that all changes. One of the country’s largest mall operators, Simon Properties, says many of its properties will be closed for the holiday. In addition, Westfield’s Malls will be closed. On top of that, Targets and Walmarts will be closed that Thursday as well.
In fact, Target’s CEO Brian Cornell says their stores will never go back to working on Thanksgiving. Plus, all those employees need to be well-rested: all the outlets are expected to open bright and early the next day for Black Friday.
