Chipotle says it might have to raise prices at its California restaurants to pay for employee wages.
The Mexican food chain just announced price hikes nation-wide but says they are considering raising the costs of food at their California locations to keep up with the state’s new minimum wage law for fast-food workers.
Back in September, Governor Newsom signed legislation that raises the minimum wage to 20 dollars an hour for fast food and fast-casual workers.
That new hourly wage in California takes effect next April.
