Nearly a dozen people are now facing charges for attacks on postal workers around the Bay Area. U.S. Postal Inspection Service and Department of Justice officials have announced that ten people have been arrested and charged with crimes related to attacks on postal workers or mail theft.

The incidents happened around the region, including in San Francisco, the South Bay and the East Bay.  Authorities say thieves target mail in the hopes of stealing money, checks, or packages of high-end merchandise.

They say robbers will attack postal workers to steal mail keys.
