San Francisco Teachers Authorize Strike

By

/

San Francisco teachers are preparing to possibly walk off the job. United Educators of San Francisco have announced that 97% of union members have voted to authorize a strike. Teachers are considering striking due to the lack of a deal with the district over a new contract.

The union is calling for a two-year deal that would include a 12-thousand dollar raise for teachers, while the district is countering with lower numbers.

Union leaders have not said what day they are eyeing for a possible strike but say union leadership is going back to the bargaining table.
