Trump Likely to Sweep California Republican Delegate Votes

Former President Donald Trump is on track to sweep all the delegates at next year’s Republican convention in California. The latest polls suggest he continues to hold a dominant lead over Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and the pack of other candidates.

More than a dozen other states poll their Republican delegates on the same day meaning Trump will likely sew up enough votes to ultimately win his third nomination for President. For Democrats in California, polls show President Joe Biden is a lock for a second-term nomination.

In a general election match-up, California is solidly a blue state, with 47 percent of voters identifying as Democrats and less than 24 percent as Republicans.

In order for Trump to win California he’d need everyone in his party, all independent voters, and some votes from Californians registered with third parties.
