The race for Diana Feinstein’s U.S. Senate seat has two clear leaders, and both are from Southern California.

According to a new UC Berkeley-Los Angeles Times poll, San Fernando Valley Congressman Adam Schiff leads the pack with 20-percent of registered voters’ support. Orange County Congresswoman Katie Porter has 17-percent.

The primary will be held on March 5th.

If Feinstein steps down before then, Governor Newsom will be required to appoint an interim Senator.

Many political pundits believe he’ll select Oakland Representative, Barbara Lee. She is also running for Feinstein’s Senate seat but only has seven-percent support in this latest poll.

Newsom has yet to endorse a candidate.
