Raging Waters in San Jose Announces Permanent Closure

An iconic Bay Area water park is closing its doors for good. Raging Waters in San Jose announced its permanent closure Wednesday, just two days after its “Last Splash” event closed out the summer season.

The 23-acre water park opened in the summer of 1985 and became a popular destination for families over the decades.

Officials haven’t said if declining attendance or revenue was the cause of the closure, but the company who owns Raging Waters decided to end its lease at the current site and focus on other businesses.
