Salesforce Inc. co-founder and Chief Executive Marc Benioff issued a warning on Tuesday, expressing concerns about the future of the company’s upcoming Dreamforce conference in San Francisco.

Benioff stated that if the city’s challenges with homelessness and open drug use start to impact the conference, it could potentially be the last time Dreamforce takes place in San Francisco.

The conference is expected to bring in approximately 40,000 attendees and generate around $57 million for the local economy. Salesforce, the largest private employer in the city.

The statement was made in an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle, where Benioff also highlighted the company’s previous contributions towards homeless services and housing initiatives in the city, including support for the Prop. C homelessness tax in 2018 to increase the business tax in order to aid homelessness programs.

Dreamforce 2023 runs September 12th through 14th.
