Officials in Santa Rosa are trying a new tactic to stop sideshows. The city attorney is taking 13 sideshow promoters to court, suing them for pollution violations.

Police say not only do the sideshows mess up city streets but rubber debris from tires can go into local waterways and pollute them.

Santa Rosa is suing each sideshow promoter for 25-thousand dollars.

It’s believed to be the first time a California city has tried to take sideshow promoters to court over their actions. Santa Rosa police say they will also continue to impound vehicles used in sideshows.
