A federal court trial has been scheduled for the man accused of attacking Paul Pelosi, the husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Paul Pelosi is set to testify during the second week of the trial on November 13th, according to the government. Proceedings will commence with opening statements on November 9th.

David DePape’s defense team has requested access to the Pelosi residence to capture photos, conduct measurements, and perform a walkthrough. The defense argues that the body camera footage and crime scene photos provided during discovery are insufficient to piece together what transpired inside the Pelosi home prior to the arrival of the police. Access to the premises would aid in the preparations for Mr. Pelosi’s testimony, the attorneys added.

However, the government opposes the request, deeming it unnecessary for the existing charges, citing concerns over privacy violation.

In response to the defense’s request, Federal District Court Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley questioned the necessity of capturing additional photos in light of the substantial evidence already made available in the case.

A final decision is expected imminently.
