A woman is hospitalized after getting out of her car naked and firing a gun on the San Francisco Bay Bridge earlier this week. One witness says he was scared.
California Highway Patrol responded to a report earlier this week about a reckless driver on Eastbound 80. CHP says the driver stopped her car on the bridge, got out of the car without any clothes on, and started firing shots in the air and at other vehicles.
CHP says their officers were able to safely de-escalate the situation, convince her to drop the weapon, and give up.
No injuries were reported from the gunfire. The woman was arrested and taken to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation. Authorities say criminal charges can be filed against the woman.
The dangerous and bizarre scene caused serious traffic delays for drivers.
