The California Governor is busy campaigning for Democrats in Republican-led states this 4th of July holiday week.

The Los Angeles Times reported that Newsom headlined an event with Idaho Democrats at a mansion in the Boise foothills Saturday, where he talked up the 80-year-old commander-in-chief.

Governor Gavin Newsom is spending this week in Montana, where he plans to have private meetings with Democratic party officials.

It’s Newsom’s second out-of-state trip for Campaign for Democracy and the second out-of-state trip for the cause in the last three months. Newsom’s political action committee has raised more than $4 million since its April launch, but the governor has repeatedly said he has no interest in running for president.

California Republican Party Chairwoman Jessica Millan Patterson said Newsom should not be exporting his failures to additional states. She told the LA Times that California’s problems – including homelessness – should ‘serve as a warning to the rest of the nation.’
