Fox News and its most popular host, Tucker Carlson, have parted ways, the network said Monday in a surprise announcement.
“Fox News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor,” Fox News said in a statement.
Carlson was Fox’s top-rated primetime host, with an average of more than 3 million viewers per night, the most of any cable tv pundit.
Carlson’s last show was Friday, April 21. “Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named,” Fox News said in a statement.
